Pittsburgh Flag Football League Help Center

The Coaches

The PFFL youth coaches are volunteers dedicated to making the season a success for players and parents alike. All of our coaches have passed the NFL Flag Certification course while also completing the essential child clearances. The overall goals are to ensure that each child learn about the sport of flag football, compete while making new friends and have fun.

Our coaches all come from a diverse professional backgrounds and the qualities we look for in a coach are as follows.

  1. Passion for Helping Kids - For many of our players flag football and a PFFL coach may be the first interaction a child has with an adult as a "coach". It is critical that the volunteers that work with players arrive with a fundamental belief of wanting to see kids succeed and improve.
  2. Patience - Players in the PFFL arrive with a wide range of athleticism and experience. It is critical that our coaches display an attitude that regardless of the game outcome, the focus must be applied to all kids participating and getting better.
  3. Humility - No coach will sub into to any game for any youth player, so the feeling of success for a coach must be derived through each players success.
  4. Enthusiastic - Coaches will set the tone for the players, the game and even the parents. Approaching each practice and game will be paramount in working towards a fun season.

If these qualities are something that you posses and you would like to coach or know someone who would then apply today.
